1. What are the dates and location of the AFI 2010 Conference and Learning Academies?

The AFI 2010 Conference and Learning Academies will take place July 27-30, 2010 in Washington, DC at the Capital Hilton, which is located at 1001 16th Street, NW. Please visit the event and hotel logistics page for more information.

2. Who should attend?

All AFI grantees and their subgrantees that have active grants are strongly encouraged to attend both the all grantee conference and a learning academy of their choosing.

3. Is there a registration fee?

No, registration for this event is free.

4. Is there a registration deadline?

Participants are encouraged to register for the AFI 2010 Conference and Learning Academies by June 28, 2010.  

Please note that hotel sleeping room reservations are separate from event registration.  See Event & Hotel Logistics for more information and to ensure that you reserve your sleeping rooms before the special conference rate expires. The deadline for room reservations at the hotel is July 8th.

5. How can I change or cancel my event registration?

Registrants wishing to change or cancel their event registration should contact the AFI Resource Center at 1-866-778-6037 or info@idaresources.org. Reference the AFI 2010 Conference and Learning Academies to have your inquiry routed to the appropriate team member.

Please note the following:

  • Learning academies are intensive workshops and participants are expected to attend the academy they selected. If you wish to change your academy selection by either choosing a different academy or cancelling attendance at the academy you have selected, simply contact the AFI Resource Center at info@idaresources.org or 1-866-778-6037.
  • Canceling your registration for AFI 2010 does not cancel sleeping room reservations that you made with the Capital Hilton or other hotel. Be sure to cancel room reservations that you do not plan to use, because you may be penalized by your hotel for any room reservations not used.

6. Is it possible to see agendas from previous years?

Currently, the agenda from the 2007 AFI University conference is available online.

7. Will an agenda be provided prior to the event?

A draft agenda is currently available online and will be regularly updated. A final agenda will be provided when you arrive at the event.

8. Will any of the materials be available online?

Materials from selected sessions will be available online during or shortly after the event.  Check idaresources.org during and following the conference for more information.
